Curriculum Goals:
Students to apply elementary scientific concept/phenomena (evolution, geologic time, plate tectonics, formation of earthquakes, climate change, acid rain formation, etc.) to everyday media messages
To recognize the difference between science fiction and science Students to be more critical with media messages and not accept things at face value
Recognize, discuss and expose their prior knowledge and missconceptions
Proposed Activities: Having students do classroom decoding Using blogs to discuss their ideas (balance vocal and quiet students) possible have students set up presentations for the rest of the school
